A pair of earrings made up of four individual water-castings, each with a freshwater cultured pearl of its own. Water-casting means melting the silver and pouring it into ice water, which sets the silver instantly, layer by layer, so that the molten silver wraps around whatever has already hardened until it reaches the water itself and freezes in the shape the water gives it as the molten silver hits it. In other words, we get silver shaped like water, with no way of deciding the outcome. These earrings are the result of many, many castings in search of shapes that express the nature of water. That the two are so different from one another and still complement each other so beautifully shows how differently one and the same substance can express itself. They also stand for the pairing of chaos and order that gives our reality its movement, where the perfect pearl becomes a point of focus within the irregular form, which in turn gives life and motion. Together they are a work of art. Made in 925 silver.
