This is an especially fine byzantine chain, made from silver wire drawn all the way down to 0.5 mm, formed into small rings that are sawn apart one by one by hand and then put together in the intricate pattern the byzantine chain is known for. Working with such tiny parts takes much longer, but the result is all the more beautiful for it. The finished chain is 3.1 mm wide. A byzantine chain is a luxurious piece of jewellery.
